Executive Order 13769, signed by President Donald J. Trump on Jan. 27, 2017, immediately banned citizens of eight Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States. The order was followed by massive chaos at airports, where even permanent residents of the United States were deported without proper representation by an attorney. Pro bono lawyers and activists gathered by the thousands at LAX through the week to fight for the release of travelers detained at the terminals and protest the actions of President Trump.

This is what happened in the second full day of the ban, on Jan. 29, 2017.
